Californian tuner Gunther Werks is presenting a modern reinterpretation of the rare 993 Speedster, that actually looks more like a Porsche and a Speedster than the 2 samples made by the german maker itself or any Porsche’s current line model, including the latest 911 Speedster.

The hard cover the rear sits, the front bumper, head and rear lights… almost every piece of the car is redesigned, reshaped or recut following Porsche’s Speedster aesthetics but with a modern touch, to the point that the resulting restomod looks somehow retro-futuristic.

Most of the bodywork and interior is built with weight-saving carbon fiber. Like the original 356 Speedsters, buyers can order the car with a removable windshield or no windshield at all.
The 993 Speedster is powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six 435hp built by Rothsport Racing. It is rear wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission.
