The CSX3178 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra was owned byCarroll Shelby from the day it came out of his factory in 1965 until his death in 2012. It was one of just five 427 Cobras finished in Charcoal Gray and a black interior and, like all Cobras.
Later, Carroll Shelby wanted more horsepower and installed an aluminum-head 427 side-oiler engine with an automatic transmission. The CSX3178 is the only 427 Cobra Carroll Shelby owned from new until his passing.
After being repainted 2 times in its life time, in blue and red, in 2016, the car was restored by renowned Cobra restorers Legendary Motorcar Company, which returned it to its original Charcoal paint color and its original 427 configuration with a 4-speed. Check it out on mecum.com.
