RML Short Wheelbase
One of the all time coolest and sought-after sportcars is the Ferrari 250 in all its variants since 1957 to 1964. From the California to the Berlinetta, while classic automakers systematically refuse to re-introduce their most iconic models in their current production lines. This leaves a market niche for other makers.
One of them is RML Group. The England based company is now turning a Ferrari 550 Maranello – who wants one of these any longer – into a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Restomod.
First of all, RML replaces the Maranello’s aluminum bodywork with much lighter carbon fiber panels to recreate the 250 SWB sexy curves. The engine is a front-mounted 485hp Ferrari 5.5L V12, 6 speed manual and open-gated transmission.
The luxurious interior is totally refurbished in the California/Berlinetta style, finished in glass, leather, and aluminum.
In front of the stick there is a hidden touchscreen panel which controls all modern amenities like Satnav system, air-conditioning, hifi, smartphone connectivity or Apple CarPlay. Limited to 30 units, 1.7 million each. Check it out on rmlgroup.com.
