Alfa Romeo GTA Totem Electric GT
Italian company Totem Automobili is producing a striking version of the classic 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA, re-imagined as a modern sports car with an electric powertrain and a carbon-fiber body.
Totem takes an original Giulia GTA donor car, that BTW is a highly priced these days, and puts about 6,000 hours of work at the company’s facility in Venice, Italy.
The company uses only 10% of the original chassis, installs a roll cage to increase stiffness, suspension is remade with a McPherson strut setup and a two-way adjustable Bilstein Clubsport coil-overs.
The electric motor generates 518 horsepower and 692 pound-feet of torque (95.67kg-m) and provides a top speed of 152mph (244kmh) with 0-62mph (0-100kmh) in 3.4 seconds.
The 50.4-kilowatt-hour battery, that weights 771.6 pounds alone (350kg) offers a range of 222 miles (357km). To lighten weight Totem crafts a new body out of carbon fiber. The resulting curb weight is just over 3,100 pounds (1.400kg).
The company is currently accepting orders for the car which is limited to 20 units and starts at 430.000 euros ($508,000). Check it out on totemautomobili.com
