Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Tech Gombessa

Blancpain continues to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the fifty Fathoms 70th diving watch with a world-first in watchmaking. The Fifty Fathoms Act 2 Tech Gombessa can time dives of up to three hours compared to the usual 60 minutes in most divers.

The Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa is housed in 47 mm case that is made of grade 23 titanium, the purest alloy of the metal, offering 300 meters of water resistance, a helium valve and a brand new black ceramic ring that is curved inward towards the dial.

For greater legibility, the no-date dial is finished in “absolute” black, a paint that captures almost 97 percent of the light, ensuring the best possible readability in the dark against the contrast of hour markers. Markers are lumed in orange pigment with blue afterglow, matching the bezel markers.

The bezel is marked for three-hour dives, going from 1 to 1:30, 2 and 2:30 before reaching the diamond marker that represents the three-hour limit. Time is tracked by a fourth hand on the center dial that makes a full turn every three hours.

The watch is powered by a 13P8 automatic movement. Rotor is stamped with the Gombessa Expeditions logo.

The watch includes a black rubber strap with brand new lugs that are positioned at the center of the case and attached to the strap from the inside of the case middle. The strap is screwed to the back of the lugs and has an internal titanium reinforcement.
