Submariner is considered the king of divers and although date model is the most popular, the coolest one is the no date. Early subs were no date. James Bond’s sub ref 6538 was no date.

The no date offers all the features of a date model but with a full maxi-dial, as a result of no having date indicator at 3 o’clock. A cleaner looking dial, no cyclops, same Chromalight long lasting blue lume and same ceramic Cerachrome bezel.

The anti-reflective coating applied to the back of the sapphire crystal on the new generation of Submariners ensures total legibility of the dial. The 41mm diameter Oyster case is guaranteed water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters.

Both, date and no date models have similar movements, Calibre 3230 and Calibre 3235 for the date. Calibre 3230 is slightly simpler. Both are a self-winding mechanical movements entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. They are fitted with the exclusive blue Parachrom hairspring that is up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks. Both movements’ power reserve extends to approximately 70 hours. Check it out on rolex.com.
